Ordering Fractions From Biggest To Smallest
Learning to rearrange fractions that have the same denominator
from biggest to smallest.
_________________________________________________________
Room 10 learnt about fractions but it was based on ordering fractions.
For e.g.
4/4 , 2/4 , 1/4 , 3/4
The answer:
1/4 , 2/4 , 3/4 , 4/4 ✓
So that is how you order fraction by ordering them from biggest
or to smallest.

Units Of Measurement
On my blog today my calls and I have made a math problem which is based on Units Of Measurement.
And Here It Is
⬇
Units Of Measurement
Main unit of measuring length: metres
Main unit of measuring mass: grams
Main unit of measuring Volume: litres
Length:
10 millimetres (mm) = 1 centimetre (cm)
100 cm = 1 metres (m)
1000 mm = 1 metre (m)
1000 m = 1 kilometre (m)
Mass (weight)
1000 milligram (mg) = 1 gram (g)
1000 grams (g) = 1 kilogram (kg)
Volume
1000 millilitres (ml) = 1 litre (1)
1000 litres (1) = 1 kilolitre (kl)
To Measure the following , the unit of measure is …..
- A teaspoon of medicine? Millimetres✔
- A box of milk? Litres ✔
- A bag of potatoes? Kilograms✔
- The distance from Auckland to Wellington? Kilometres✔
- The length of my pencil? Millimetres✔
- My height? Metres✔
- The water in my bucket? Litres✔
- The mass of a panadol tablet? Milligram✔
- The running race I won at school? Metres✔
- A drop of water? Milliletres
Find The Conversion
- 10 mm = 1 cm✔
- 50 mm = 5 cm✔
- 100 mm = 10 cm✔
- 1000 g = 1 kg✔
- 2000 g = 2 kg✔
- 3000 g = 3 kg✔
- 1000 1 = 1 kl✔
- 3000 1 = 3 kl✔
- 5000 1 = 5 kl✔
- 5000 mm = 5 m✔

Science Expo At Glen Innes School
___________________________________________________________________________________
All the classes in Glen Innes School was getting ready for a fun day which was called the science expo. The science expo is where you go somewhere to learn what you’ve never learnt before so our school had a expo about simple machines and it was very fun.
My class room 10 was learning about levers, Inclined plane, Pulleys , Wheel and Axle , Wedge and Screw. We were learning about it for 1 week then we got to start building the machines. We built it for a long long time, but we got to a stage that it was finished. The science expo started on friday at the school at 11: 45 am to 3.00 pm. The next day it was friday the day that it is going to be the science expo i was very excited to see what the other classes did. We left class at 11 : 43 we walked through the school hallway towards the door then we walked to the school hall, but I wondered if it looked cool for the simple machines was broken, but then once I walked inside with the students I saw pulley inclined planes blocks t-shirts. The first place i went was to our classes one which was lever, inclined plane and wedge the people that were at the stands were La’shae , Laina, Michelle and Jasmine then I went to the back of the stands and saw the other people doing the lever and it was Eric and Leilah.
Then I went to the other ones and it was amazing seeing it.
I loved it when we went to see all the different materials what they used to make the simple machines so if we do this again I would very likely to be in it.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Uses Of The Inclined Plane
Half of room 10 has teamed up to make something about the simple machines and my one
was to create a google drawing and to find amazing pictures about the uses of inclined plane.
So this is what my teacher and I have created together with my team.
Inclined plane at work
Room 10 has created an animation based on the simple machine called the
Inclined Plane. Inclined planes has been used in very different ways like
pushing heavy loads onto a high truck. So we have recreated
what it was into a animation on a slid.
And I hope that the people that is
watching this likes it.

Harold
Harold
Room 10 had so much fun learning about the human body like the brain liver appendix.
In Harold's van, and it was very fun learning about all the
things in our body and getting to meet Bob. Bob is just the e.g of the human anatomy
and we watched some of the videos on the small screen about
Alex and the his whole system in his body not getting any sleep.
What I learnt about the liver is that the livers is the system
that sorts the healthy food and the unhealthy food.
What I didn't know about my body is that in my stomach there is a liquid acid
that burns the food to comes down the esophagus. And did you know why the acid
in our stomachs does not burn our skin. But the reason why is because we
have layers and layers of our skin on top and there is a skin that burns but it regrows
so we don't get burnt by it.

Vector Talks
Vector
Our class room 10 went to our school hall, but we didn’t know what was going on until we saw a lady and a background that she had and it had writing on it and it was Vector.
Vector is a company that makes sure that we have power to our house's and make sure that at night we have
light so we can see so a lady came to our school to show us how they work while they are doing the power lines.
The first thing she asked is if we have seen the workers from vector,
but most of all she told us that
she would be telling us how to be safe around power lines, broken lines, transformers and a lot more of eletric things.
She told us some rules about the transformers one of them we to never ever sit on the transformer even the big
ones that are on the ground because if a person walks along then you might see it then you would of been very tired
of walking so you wanted to go sit down on it so you do, but most of all you might get electric shock by it so they
then you would of died. Then we got to watch a movie which is all about being captured into a game which means
that you're in the game and you need to get out, but the only thing you can get out is to stay safe and take car
because if you don't then MR. Negative will get you, but the good person is Mr. Plus.
When Vector came to our school hall I was really wanting to work there, but until she told us all the things then I changed my mind, but I just want to say thank you Vector for telling us all about the electric lines and to always STAY SAFE.

Homework Club
Every Wednesday we all have a Homework Club. The Homework Club make us improve our learning skills. So at the Homework Club today, the staff from EY helped us to learn to understand time on analogue clocks. For E.g "How do you make the clock to be 9 : 00 c'lock. Then you would make the long hand on 12 then move the sort hand to 9 then you have completed your time.
People use clocks for many things like for a timer and a time or sometimes other people ask another person how to do 1 : 00 c'lock too.
Our helper that helped us was a man named Siv he helped the people that was sitting across from me and next to me. I was a bit confident to answer the clock time to one of the helpers, but if I say it to the whole class then I would be very shy.
I love learning time and being at the Homework Club.

How Far Is The Sun
How Far Is The Sun?
I was reading this book when I got to a part it said that Mercury is the closest to the Sun and Neptune is farthest from the sun so it would be very cold over there.
All of the planets are not close or stuck to each other, but they are departed from each other and did you know that Venus is the closest to Earth and Mars.
If you were exploring Mercury then you would be burnt already. And what if a ordinary car took a trip to the Sun it would take 152 years to get there. And if an aeroplane flew all the way to the Sun it would take 18 years. Now for the last trip, if a spaceship blasted the hole way to the Sun it would take 156 days to get there.

Auckland Zoo
Auckland Zoo
The Zoo is a fascinating place to go to because you learn how the animals act in the wild. And you could learn other kinds of animals that you have never learnt before. So rooms 6 to 12 got to go on a trip to the Zoo. And I was feeling very excited to be at the Zoo.
Rooms 6 to 12 was very eager to go on a trip to the zoo to see amazing wild animals, but first what we did was we backed up the chairs and waited until the first bell went then we would walk out of our class and wait until our teacher Mr. Ramkolowen tells us when to walk outside of the school. We all waited then we walked towards the gate to the bus. We stood in line until we would get to go onto the bus. And I was very excited to see the wild animals at the zoo. We got onto the bus then we drove down Line Rd towards the city side. We drove a long distance to the zoo and there was a lot of stopping. We were almost there, but we still needed to go past some more of the buildings. Like one of them was Motat then I could see the zoo poster on the post and I knew that we were almost there. We were driving into the driveway of the zoo to park at the car park. We got out of the bus then we stood in line until this man that worded at the Auckland Zoo came to us and asked us some questions about people not bringing there rain coat or a warm jumper and he asked us about the weather if it was rainy or cloudy and we said a little bit rainy. Then we waited a little while then we got to go into the zoo we walked up to the zoo gate and the man that worked there went to open the gate for us to go through it. He opened it then we took big steps and when we where taking big steps the man said how old it the Auckland zoo and we said” I don’t know”, but then he said” it is 100 years old. Then we moved on. We were walking down the hill when we came up to the big place where they told us some rules. The first rules was the not talk loudly because then they will get scared and they will not come out. The second rules was not to run then he pronounced himself. His name was Fraser and the other person next to him was his brother and his name was John. He said that room 12 would be going with him/Fraser and room 11 was going with John then he asked for room 10 to put there hands up and then when they did he said that they would be going with a lady and her name was Kristy then the last class was going to be room 6 Fraser said to them that when he is finished with his first group he would come and get them to follow him where he went first the his first group. While Fraser and his brother was looking at the time he said that we all should have morning tea now so we all did, but then Kirsty said that we can start looking at the zoo animals because we were going through and different way which was the Te Wao Nui / New Zealand. The first thing that we went through was the Tuatara. We went into the old house then we saw other tuatara just standing there like a statue, but do you know why they do that. Well they do that because when a little bug comes along it will just wait until it comes closer and closer to the tuatara then when it is very close the tuatara will eat it then it will wait for another bug. Next we all walked to a different place which was the Kea’s place, but there place where they lived was very different than the tuatara. There cage was much more bigger and there habitat looked then the mountain hills with a waterfall. Kirsty said that they are very naughty birds why well it's because they fly over your head and we will scream and they think that it is very funny, but then when I walked in this bird fle over my head then I got very scared but I saw that they were laughing because they were looking at me. Then we went to another cage which was the blue birds cage. We went in but we didn’t see any of the blue bird so we went out of the cage then when we were on the bridge we saw the blue bird coming out of its habitat and going into the pund to swim then it flew out then it went back into its home. Kirsty said that she had to move on so our teacher told us that we can go anywhere, but we would need to stay with him so the next thing that we went to was the hippo and the seval. We were walking towards the sign where it was written on and it said”Hippo’s river”. We walked inside and first what we saw was the Serval, but they were sleeping in it’s home. Then next door to it was the hippo’s, but sadly there was no hippo why well because there last hippo has died, but I was very excited to see the hippo’s, but then there was nothing because it said on the sign. So then we thought of have morning tea around the hippo’s habitat. I finished having morning tea then our teacher Mr. Ramkolowen asked us if he could take only ten people so I went with him and nine more people came. We went around the zoo looking at the animals then the rest of the students came then we moved on the other animals. The next animal that we went to was the indian elephant we could see that it was a indian elephant because the ears weren't that big. Then it walked towards us then we saw the whole body then when it walked we couldn’t hear a bit of its stomping. Then we went to see the other animals and it was fun because there was tunnel’s and other cool things. Then it was time to go back onto the bus and drive a long time back to our school.
