Waitangi Day

Waitangi Day, a day of peace, conflict, and fun! Everybody’s perspectives change drastically which means they would honor the way they believe in what they think is right.

Firstly, there are numerous facts about the Treaty of Waitangi. The main statement was when the treaty was signed, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed on February the 6th of 1940… Another fact is the people who signed the treaty, which was the indigenous maaori chiefs Hone Heke with around 540 maaori chiefs surrounding the treaty’s paper. At the end of signing the treaty which was made mostly for protection and peace, it ended with chaos and conflict.

Along with Waitangi Day, there are three different points of view and perspectives responding to most people. They are people who celebrate the honor of the treaty and it resembled PEACE! On the other hand, there were people who believe it should not be celebrated because it was a day of terror and sadness.

Turning towards my own perspective. I think it is extremely important to have a lot of knowledge about both sides of the story. Because that would probably resolve most of the problems of both the conflict and honor.
