Ordering Fractions From Biggest To Smallest

Learning to rearrange fractions that have the same denominator
from biggest to smallest.

_________________________________________________________
Room 10 learnt about fractions but it was based on ordering fractions.
For e.g.

4/4 , 2/4 , 1/4 , 3/4
The answer:
1/4 , 2/4 , 3/4 , 4/4 ✓

So that is how you order fraction by ordering them from biggest
or to smallest.

Units Of Measurement

On my blog today my calls and I have made a math problem which is based on Units Of Measurement.

And Here It Is

          ⬇

 Units Of Measurement

Main unit of measuring length: metres
Main unit of measuring mass: grams
Main unit of measuring Volume: litres

Length:
10 millimetres (mm) = 1 centimetre (cm)
100 cm = 1 metres (m)
1000 mm = 1 metre (m)
1000 m = 1 kilometre (m)

Mass (weight)

1000 milligram (mg) = 1 gram (g)
1000 grams (g)           = 1 kilogram (kg)

Volume

1000 millilitres (ml) = 1 litre (1)
1000 litres (1)            = 1 kilolitre (kl)

To Measure the following , the unit of measure is …..

  1. A teaspoon of medicine? Millimetres✔
  2. A box of milk? Litres
  3. A bag of potatoes? Kilograms✔
  4. The distance from Auckland to Wellington? Kilometres✔
  5. The length of my pencil? Millimetres✔
  6. My height? Metres✔
  7. The water in my bucket? Litres✔
  8. The mass of a panadol tablet? Milligram✔
  9. The running race I won at school? Metres✔
  10. A drop of water? Milliletres

Find The Conversion

  1. 10 mm = 1 cm
  2. 50 mm = 5 cm
  3. 100 mm = 10 cm
  4. 1000 g = 1 kg
  5. 2000 g = 2 kg
  6. 3000 g = 3 kg
  7. 1000 1 = 1 kl
  8. 3000 1 = 3 kl
  9. 5000 1 = 5 kl
  10. 5000 mm =  5 m

Science Expo At Glen Innes School

___________________________________________________________________________________

All the classes in Glen Innes School was getting ready for a fun day which was called the science expo. The science expo is where you go somewhere to learn what you’ve never learnt before so our school had a expo about simple machines and it was very fun.

My class room 10 was learning about levers, Inclined plane, Pulleys , Wheel and Axle , Wedge and Screw. We were learning about it for 1 week then we got to start building the machines. We built it for a long long time, but we got to a stage that it was finished. The science expo started on friday at the school at 11: 45 am to 3.00 pm. The next day it was friday the day that it is going to be the science expo i was very excited to see what the other classes did. We left class at 11 : 43 we walked through the school hallway towards the door then we walked to the school hall, but I wondered if it looked cool for the simple machines was broken, but then once I walked inside with the students I saw pulley inclined planes blocks t-shirts. The first place i went was to our classes one which  was lever, inclined plane and wedge the people that were at the stands were La’shae , Laina, Michelle and Jasmine then I went to the back of the stands and saw the other people doing the lever and it was Eric and Leilah.
Then I went to the other ones and it was amazing seeing it.

I loved it when we went to see all the different materials what they used to make the simple machines so if we do this again I would very likely to be in it.

Uses Of The Inclined Plane

Half of room 10 has teamed up to make something about the simple machines and my one
was to create a google drawing and to find amazing pictures about the uses of inclined plane.
So this is what my teacher and I have created together with my team.

Inclined plane at work

Room 10 has created an animation based on the simple machine called the
Inclined Plane. Inclined planes has been used in very different ways like
pushing heavy loads onto a high truck. So we have recreated
what it was into a animation on a slid.
And I hope that the people that is
watching this likes it.

Harold

Harold

Room 10 had so much fun learning about the human body like the brain liver appendix.
In Harold's van, and it was very fun learning about all the
things in our body and getting to meet Bob. Bob is just the e.g of the human anatomy
and we watched some of the videos on the small screen about
Alex and the his whole system in his body not getting any sleep.
What I learnt about the liver is that the livers is the system
that sorts the healthy food and the unhealthy food.
What I didn't know about my body is that in my stomach there is a liquid acid
that burns the food to comes down the esophagus. And did you know why the acid
in our stomachs does not burn our skin. But the reason why is because we
have layers and layers of our skin on top and there is a skin that burns but it regrows
so we don't get burnt by it.

Vector Talks

Vector

Our class room 10 went to our school hall, but   we didn’t know what was going on until we saw a lady and a background that she had and it had writing on it and it was Vector.

Vector is a company that makes sure that we have power to our house's and make sure that at night we have
light so we can see so a lady came to our school to show us how they work while they are doing the power lines.
The first thing she asked is if we have seen the workers from vector,
but most of all she told us that
she would be telling us how to be safe around power lines, broken lines, transformers and a lot more of eletric things.
She told us some rules about the transformers one of them we to never ever sit on the transformer even the big
ones that are on the ground because if a person walks along then you might see it then you would of been very tired
of walking so you wanted to go sit down on it so you do, but most of all you might get electric shock by it so they
then you would of died. Then we got to watch a movie which is all about being captured into a game which means
that you're in the game and you need to get out, but the only thing you can get out is to stay safe and take car
because if you don't then MR. Negative will get you, but the good person is Mr. Plus.

When Vector came to our school hall I was really wanting to work there, but until she told us all the things then I changed my mind, but I just want to say thank you Vector for telling us all about the electric lines and to always STAY SAFE.
THE END

Homework Club

Every Wednesday we all have a Homework Club. The Homework Club make us improve our learning skills. So at the Homework Club today, the staff from EY helped us to learn to understand time on analogue clocks. For E.g "How do you make the clock to be 9 : 00 c'lock. Then you would make the long hand on 12 then move the sort hand to 9 then you have completed your time.

People use clocks for many things like for a timer and a time or sometimes other people ask another person how to do 1 : 00 c'lock too.

Our helper that helped us was a man named Siv he helped the people that was sitting across from me and next to me. I was a bit confident to answer the clock time to one of the helpers, but if I say it to the whole class then I would be very shy.

I love learning time and being at the Homework Club.
